Top IP corporate counsel and in-house team named in New York

The second annual Global Counsel Awards took place last week in New York and the fulllist of winners has just been announced. Organised by the International Law Office (ILO), which is published online by IAM co-owner Globe Business Publishing, in association with the Association of Corporate Counsel, the awards honour individual in-house counsel and legal teams for the excellence of their work.

To identify the winners the ILO team conducted in-depth analysis of in-house lawyers and legal departments worldwide, receiving over 2,900 individual nominations. Respondents were asked to focus on criteria such as effective communication, legal understanding, commercial awareness, depth and strength of team, and management skills.

The winners this year for IP were, in the individual category, Judy Jarecki-Black, head of IP at animal health company Merial; and, in the team category, the in-house IP department at Glacéau, the company that produces vitaminwater®. Congratulations to both!
