Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - see you in 2014

The IAM blog is taking its annual Christmas and New Year holiday. We’ll be away until 2nd January, when we return to reveal our IP personalities of 2013. Until then, here’s wishing all of you taking one the most relaxing and peaceful of seasonal breaks, and for those of you who aren’t for whatever reason, don’t work too hard.

On top of this, though, many, many thanks for your continued support. It has been a phenomenal year for us on here, with more users making more visits than ever before. According to Google analytics in 2013 we have had 68,688 unique users, coming to see us 118,554 times. The Google stats tell us that we get most visits from the following countries (in order): the US, the UK, Canada, India, Germany, Singapore, France, the Netherlands, Japan and Taiwan. As we get so many visits from the US, I drilled into those stats a little more and found that we have most readers in the following states: California, New York, Illinois, Texas, Washington, District of Columbia, Virginia, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Pennsylvania. Our top 20 US cities are: New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington DC, Minneapolis, Alexandria, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Austin, Dallas, Seattle, San Jose, Bellevue, Houston, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Ann Arbor and Philadelphia. Finally, turning to the rest of the world our top 20, non-US cities are: London, Singapore, Ottawa, Munich, Toronto, Hong Kong, Paris, Seoul, New Delhi, Bangalore, Taipei City, Chennai, Sydney, Tokyo, Mumbai, Melbourne, Dublin, Shanghai, Beijing and Montreal.

Knowing that we have such a following makes it all worthwhile. As ever, though, if you think there are things we are doing wrong or that there are ways in which we can improve what we offer you, please let us know. In signing off for the year, we'll leave you with a list of the 10 stories that you have read most over the last 12 months:
