Jackie Maguire
Chief Executive - Coller IP Management
Jackie Maguire is the chief executive of Coller IP Management. She is a physicist and engineer by background and has extensive experience of working at a high strategic level on issues connected with protecting and commercialising intellectual property.
Dr Maguire uses her director-level experience in operations, marketing and business development, together with 18 years’ technology transfer, commercialisation and consultancy experience, to advise organisations at board level on how to realise value from non-tangible assets. In particular, she provides top-level IP consultancy to a range of clients making investment decisions. Dr Maguire has extensive knowledge of industrial processes including power generation, engineering, ceramics and metals manufacture. She has hands-on experience of taking new services to market, launching businesses and several multimillion-pound collaborative governmentindustry- university technology transfer programmes.
In 2004, as a managing partner of IP solutions within Accentus plc, Dr Maguire laid the foundations for Coller IP Management Ltd, helping companies to recognise the importance of valuing, protecting and commercialising intellectual capital within a business. She has now defined, grown and led Coller IP Management to deliver strategic intellectual capital commercialisation consultancy services to public and private sector clients.
Dr Maguire is an enthusiastic speaker and workshop facilitator. She is a chartered engineer, chartered physicist and chartered scientist, has a BSc in chemical physics with subsidiary mathematics (first-class honours) and a PhD in solid state physics.
Dr Maguire is also one of the founding members of the International IP Strategists Association.
